These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all prize competitions operated by LOCED IN (“the Promoter”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By entering any competition on this website, entrants (“you”, “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Promoter Details

The Promoter is LOCED IN. Contact: win@locedin.co.uk.

2. Eligibility

  • Competitions are open to United Kingdom residents aged 18 or over at the time of entry.
  • By entering, you confirm you meet the eligibility requirements and agree to provide valid ID on request.
  • Employees, agents, affiliates and household members of the Promoter are not permitted to enter.
  • One account per person. The Promoter may void entries made using multiple accounts or false identities.

3. Prize Competition Format (Skill Requirement)

  • Each competition is a prize competition that requires an answer to a qualifying skill, knowledge or judgement question.
  • Only entries with the correct answer (“Eligible Entries”) are entered into the draw. Incorrect answers are not entered.
  • Ticket caps and any per-person limits are stated on each competition page.

4. How to Enter

  • Paid route: select your competition, answer the question and purchase your ticket(s). Your answer must be correct for your entry to qualify.
  • Free postal route (one entry per ticket, one entry per post): send your full name, address, contact number, email address, the correct answer, competition name and (if applicable) your preferred ticket number to the Promoter at the postal address listed on our Contact page. Postal entries must arrive before the closing date to be valid. Each valid postcard equals one entry for one ticket. Only one entry per posted item (envelope or postcard) will be processed. If you wish to enter for more than one ticket (within any stated per-person limit), you must send separate postcards in separate envelopes, each with the full required details.
  • Free postal entries count towards any per-person entry limits and are treated equally to paid entries. If a preferred ticket number is unavailable, a random available ticket will be allocated.
  • Entries are only valid when payment has been received in full for paid entries and when a correct answer has been submitted.
  • All entries are final and non-refundable once processed, except where stated below.

5. Closing Dates and Draws

  • Each competition has a fixed closing date and time shown on the competition page (UK time).
  • If all tickets sell out before the closing date, the draw may take place earlier. Some quickfire competitions may run an automated draw as soon as the final ticket is sold.
  • If a draw date is brought forward or extended, reasonable notice will be posted on the competition page.
  • Draws are conducted using a verifiable random number generator from Eligible Entries only and may be broadcast live on social media for transparency.

6. Prizes

  • The advertised prize will be awarded to the winner unless the minimum ticket threshold is not reached (see Clause 7).
  • Prizes are non-transferable unless we agree otherwise in writing. No negotiation will be entered into regarding alternatives except as provided in Clause 7.
  • Winners may be required to provide ID and proof of address before a prize is released. Where a prize has age-restricted elements, additional checks may apply.

7. Cash Alternative if Minimum Tickets Are Not Sold

  • If the minimum number of tickets required to cover the cost of the prize is not sold by the closing date, a cash alternative will be awarded instead of the advertised prize.
  • The cash alternative is equal to 80% of the total entry fees received for that competition (gross value of paid entries actually received by the Promoter, excluding transaction or payment processing fees).
  • Example: if ticket sales total £10,000, the cash alternative will be £8,000.
  • The cash prize will be transferred to the winner’s nominated UK bank account within 14 days of the draw date.

8. Winner Notification and Claim

  • The winner will be contacted by email or phone within 7 days of the draw.
  • It is your responsibility to provide correct contact details. If we cannot make contact within 14 days, the winner may forfeit the prize and a redraw may be carried out.
  • Where reasonably required, we may ask the winner to participate in fulfilment planning and prize handover arrangements.

9. Proof, Audit and Transparency

  • We keep records of Eligible Entries, the question asked, accepted answers, ticket allocations and draw results.
  • Live draws may be filmed and retained. A winners list may be published showing first name and town or county.

10. Publicity

  • By entering, you agree that your name and town or county and a winner photograph may be used for reasonable promotional purposes without additional payment, unless you notify us in writing that you object.
  • Live draw recordings may feature entrants and winners.

11. Prohibited Conduct

  • Automated, scripted or bulk entries are prohibited.
  • Multiple accounts, false identities or attempts to circumvent per-person limits may result in disqualification and cancellation of entries without refund.
  • Free postal entries must comply with one entry per ticket and one entry per posted item. Multiple free entries in a single envelope or postcard will be treated as a single entry or rejected.
  • We may void any entry that breaches these Terms or the spirit of fair play.

12. Liability

  • We are not responsible for delays, losses or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including postal issues, internet or platform outages, or payment gateway problems.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be limited under law.

13. Refunds and Cancellations

  • All entry fees are non-refundable once processed, except where a competition is cancelled by the Promoter, in which case a full refund will be issued to the original payment method.
  • If a competition is extended due to unforeseen circumstances, notice will be given on the competition page. You may contact us if you have questions about an extension.

14. Age and Identity Verification

  • Entrants must be 18 or over. We may request satisfactory evidence of age and identity at any time.
  • Failure to provide requested evidence within a reasonable period may lead to disqualification and forfeiture.

15. Data Protection

  • Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains your rights and how to exercise them.
  • We use your information to administer competitions, verify eligibility, contact winners and meet legal obligations.

16. Payment Processing

  • Where applicable, entries are not confirmed until payment is received in full and your answer is correct. Free postal entries are processed and entered on an equal basis.
  • We may refuse or cancel entries where payment is flagged or reversed by the payment provider.

17. Website Availability and Technical Issues

  • We aim to keep the website available at all times, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
  • If a live platform fails during a draw, we may complete the draw fairly using an alternative verifiable method and publish the result.

18. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

19. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms where necessary to comply with law or to clarify operation of the competitions. Any changes will be posted on this website and apply to entries made after the change takes effect.

20. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to win@locedin.co.uk. Our current postal address for free entries and correspondence is listed on the Contact page.
